ATLANTA (CN) -Jehovah’s Witnesses will be barred from proselytizing at metro Atlanta bus and train stations if an Atlanta woman has anything to say about it. Christina Canziani, a pro se litigant, claims that Jehovah’s Witnesses “missionaries” have “accosted, bothered, disturbed and solicited [her] on numerous occasions during her morning commute.”
Canziani sued the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), and its general manager, Beverly Scott, in Federal Court.
Canziani says she communicated with MARTA officials several times about banning the group from MARTA property and was told the missionaries would be “staying put and MARTA would do nothing to interfere with their activities.”
The missionaries told her they had permission to proselytize on MARTA property, Canziani said. Canziani claims that “MARTA’s response was tantamount to a ‘so-sue-me challenge.'”
