LOS ANGELES (CN) – A class action claims Mercedes Benz failed to warn customers that an air intake filter on its 1999-2006 S Model W220s clogs easily and frequently, causing “substantial electric failure” in the cars.
The Superior Court claim states that Mercedes knew about the problem, and informed its dealers about it, but only for year models 1999-2002, though the defect continued through the 2006 model. It claims that Mercedes didn’t warn customers who bought or leased the cars, or compensate them for the repairs they had to make.
Named plaintiff Arutyun Marsikian says he had to pay $6,113.15 to repair the damage to his car.
Plaintiffs are represented by Stephen Harris with Knapp, Petersen & Clarke of Glendale.
