CHICAGO (CN) - Catherine Doubek, a Chicago Police officer, claims CBS TV affiliate WBBM defamed her in a broadcast, stating that "certain officers in the Chicago Police Department 'who considers themselves above the law, get away with their offenses,'" then referred to her by name, and cited "allegations made by a Mr. Joe Rossi that Plaintiff had stood by while Rossi was tortured by Plaintiff's husband."
Doubek claims the April 26, 2007 report was false and defamatory. She also sued WBBM reporter Dave Savini, producer Michelle Youngerman and editor Jerry Pedroza.
Represented by Kurt Kolar in Cook County Court, she demands punitive damages.
