Charter schools

RALEIGH, N.C. — In a False Claims Act suit by North Carolina against the Kinston Charter Academy and its CEO, the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled that North Carolina charter schools are not agencies of the state and the defendants are therefore not entitled to sovereign immunity.
