Cattle Ranchers Sue Over Malheur

     PENDLETON, ORE. (CN) – The National Marine Fisheries Service and U.S. Forest Service failed to provide accurate biological assessment of the impact of livestock grazing in Malheur National Forest on the Middle Columbia River Steelhead, cattle ranchers say in Federal Court. Cattle grazing would not really devastate protected habitat for threatened species in at least 13 areas, including the John Day River, the suit states, national forest areas that should be used for cows.
