The Ninth Circuit upheld a ruling in favor of the Spokane Tribe of Indians and the U.S. Department of the Interior in a suit brought by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians challenging the government’s decision that the Spokane Tribe’s proposed casino on newly acquired off-reservation land would not be harmful to the surrounding community.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld a ruling in favor of the Spokane Tribe of Indians and the U.S. Department of the Interior in a suit brought by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians challenging the government’s decision that the Spokane Tribe’s proposed casino on newly acquired off-reservation land would not be harmful to the surrounding community.
