California Immigration Lawsuit

FILE - In this Feb. 28, 2018, file photo, demonstrators hold signs outside of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices in San Francisco. California has sued the Trump administration more than half a dozen times over its immigration policies, so the state will find itself in an unusual position in court when it's forced to defend its own immigration moves against a suit by the administration. U.S. Judge John Mendez in Sacramento will hear arguments Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from attorneys for California and the U.S. Department of Justice about the administration's request that he block three California laws that extend protections to people in the country illegally.
