Butane

NEW ORLEANS — In an interlocutory appeal in Vitol’s suit seeking an $8.8 million tax refund, the Fifth Circuit ruled butane is not a liquefied petroleum gas, as the term is used in the definition of alternative fuel in a statute pertaining to tax credits for such fuels.
