WASHINGTON (CN) - The Department of Transportation has proposed updates to its manual on how passengers with disabilities are to be assisted.
Included, are new provisions on the onboard use of respiratory assistive devices and accommodations for passengers who are deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind.
The manual also now would show that its applicability has been extended to foreign air carriers.
DOT will accept comments until Oct. 3, 2012.
