WASHINGTON (CN) - Advertisers may put "sticky notes" on the outside of their mailings if they follow certain rules, according to new Postal Service regulations.
The notes allow potential customers to peel off highlighted information or special offers and stick them somewhere more convenient.
Three-inch square notes with ¾ of an inch adhesive must be made by an approved vendor and attached a certain direction with labeling equipment. The Postal Service will take an invoice as proof an approved vendor was used.
One note is allowed per standard sized letter, magazine or newspaper, and it must not have a zip code or address on it or use phosphorescent or red fluorescent colorants.
