SPRINGFIELD, IIl. — In a case alleging the owner of a network of post-acute-care facilities violated the privacy of employees by negligently “collecting, storing, and using their biometric identifiers,” the Illinois Supreme Court ruled the state’s Workers’ Compensation Act doesn’t bar claims for statutory damages under the Biometric Information Privacy Act.
