WASHINGTON - Nevada has replaced Arizona as the nation's fastest-growing state, growing by 2.9 percent from July 1, 2006 to July 1 this year, the Census Bureau reported today. California is still the most populous state, with 37 million people, and Louisiana, which lost 250,000 residents after Hurricane Katrina, gained almost 50,000 last year. See report.
