California Title Firms Face Antitrust Claim

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A federal class-action antitrust complaint accuses Fidelity National Financial and others of conspiring to allocate and fix prices for title insurance in California. This complaint resembles several class-actions filed against title insurers in New York.

Plaintiffs are represented by Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro of Berkeley.

Here are the defendants: Fidelity National Financial, Fidelity National Title Insurance Co., Ticor Title Insurance Co., Ticor Title Insurance Co. of Florida, Chicago Title Insurance Co., National Title Insurance of New York, Security Union Title Insurance Co., The First American Corp., First American Title Insurance Co., United General Title Insurance Co., LandAmerica Financial Group, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co., Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., Transnation Title Insurance Co., Stewart Title Guaranty Co., and Stewart Title Insurance Co.
