NORTH PLATTE, NEB. (CN) - The City of Kimball fired its police chief Billy Shank because he refused to obey orders from Evertson oil companies not to investigate or arrest its Hispanic employees, some of whom were working illegally, says Shank in Federal Court.
The former police chief, Billy Shank also claims some of the defendants, who apparently include a community activist, falsely accused him of racial profiling. He demands punitive damages for constitutional violations, conspiracy and interference. He is represented by Joy Shiffermiller of Lincoln.
Here are the defendants: City of Kimball, Evertson Oil Company, Evertson Operating Co., Evertson Exploration LLC, Evertson Well Service, Castonics Inc., Greg Dinges, Harold Farrar, Perry Van Newkirk, Mary Lou Diaz, and Bruce Evertson.
