LOS ANGELES (CN) - LifeLock and its CEO Richard Todd Davis fraudulently advertise their identity theft protection service, a class action claims in Superior Court. The named plaintiff says LifeLock's product is so shoddy that Davis's identity was stolen while he was his own customer.
Plaintiffs are represented by Freedman & Taitelman of Los Angeles and Marks & Klein of Red Bank, N.J. They demand damages for unfair business practices and fraudulent advertising.
"Indeed, the representations made by LifeLock's CEO are false and misleading because his own identity was stolen while he was a LifeLock customer," the complaint states. It claims that "there are more than 20 driver's licenses that have been fraudulently obtained through the misappropriation of Davis's personal information ... [and that] his entire personal profile has been compromised to the extent that the birth date associated with his Social Security number is November 2, 1940, which inaccurately makes Davis 67 years old. This is clearly fraudulent information."
