MONTREAL (CN) - Kuwait Airways demands $832 million from Iraqi Airways, alleging losses and damages to 10 passenger aircraft that Iraq seized when it invaded Kuwait in 1990, in Montreal Superior Court.
Kuwait claims the Iraqi Minister of Transport ordered the director general of Iraqi Airways to seize the aircraft after the invasion. Four were destroyed by U.S.-led bombing in Mosul, and six were sent to Iran, and eventually returned, the complaint states.
