LOS ANGELES (CN) - The medical director of the Pain Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center sued three Internet service providers, demanding an injunction against an unknown blogger who he says defamed him on the Internet, using the defendants as Web hosts.
Howard Rosner says the anonymous blogger defamed him in statements such as, "Why is Cedars Sinai employing a known pervert, marijuana user, thief, fraudster, and medical hack as their Medical Director of the Pain Center?" The comments were posted on "Howard Rosner Exposed," a Web site hosted by Weebly.com, GoDaddy.com and Synthasite.com.
Rosner says the Web site has a "comments" section, where commentator "Sandy" wrote: "Dr. Rosner routinely hires male prostitutes and message boys from sites like adam4adam and rent boy. Cedar Sinai has some nerve (sic)."
Rosner denies the charges. He claims the defendants refused to shut down the Web site or tell him who runs it. He also complains that the Web site published his home phone number, address, cell phone number, and personal email address and photos of him.
Rosner the Web site shut down, damages and costs. He is represented by Stephen Martin in Superior Court.
