Bill Heard Chevy Faces Another Lawsuit

ATLANTA (CN) - Bill Heard Chevrolet lured a 72-year-old diabetic stroke victim to its lot by claiming he had won a prize, then held him against his will and pressured him into trading his paid-off truck for a new truck on a 12,000-mile-a-year lease, though Heard knew he drove 30,000 miles a year for work, the man claims in Fulton County Court. Bill Heard fired all its 3,500 employees nationwide last week.

Heard was hit with a class action lawsuit for its mass layoff last week, which noted a $50 million claim from the State of Georgia, which accused Heard of deceptive sales tactics in July 2007.

The plaintiff in this lawsuit claims he was gulled in August 2007. He is represented by Corin McCarthy with Kilpatrick Stockton.
