MANHATTAN (CN) - A Tokyo resident claims Primavera Galleries sold her bogus Pierre Chareau chairs for $95,000. Ryoko Itakura says Primavera owner Audrey Friedman refused a refund after Christie's appraised the chairs and told Itakura they were copies.
Chareau was an early 20th century designer. Friedman owns and controls the gallery on 11th Avenue, the complaint states.
Itakura sued Primavera and Friedman in Federal Court. She is represented by Richard Bennett.
