(CN) - The husband of suspended Judge Elizabeth Halverson was sentenced on Wednesday to 3 to 10 years in prison for beating his wife with a frying pan.
Edward Halverson originally was charged with attempted murder, but entered an Alford plea to one count of battery with a deadly weapon for attacking the Clark County District Court judge in their Las Vegas home last September.
Judge Halverson was suspended in November 2008 after accusations that she fell asleep on the bench and abused her staff.
Edward Halverson's restitution hearing is set for Feb. 13.
