MANHATTAN (CN) - A clerk in New York City's Human Resources Administration stole copies of welfare recipients' birth certificates and Social Security numbers and sold them, federal prosecutors said. Michael Wills, 59, faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of aggravated identity theft.
It is the latest allegation in New York's seemingly endless cavalcade of corruption.
The indictment does not say how much Wills is believed to have made by selling the documents.
