(CN) - Indiana voters are not deprived of their constitutional rights when they must present photo identification at the polls, the state Supreme Court ruled.
Local chapters of the League of Women Voters sued Todd Rokita, the Indiana Secretary of State, to challenge the Voter ID Law.
The Indiana justices upheld the trial court's ruling for the state.
"It is within the power of the Legislature to require voters to identify themselves at the polls using a photo ID," Justice Brent Dickson wrote.
"No individual voter has alleged that the Voter ID Law has prevented him or her from voting or inhibited his or her ability to vote in any way."
