AUSTIN (CN) - Twenty-two people were arrested in a state and federal roundup of an illegal steroid ring in and around Austin, Texas.
Federal prosecutors said they seized $300,000 in cash and "significant amounts of steroids."
All 22 defendants were arrested on Sept. 4. Six of them face federal charges; 16 face state charges.
The ringleaders were Timothy John Bruner, 54, of Leander; and Ryan Robert Rowland, 23, of Round Rock, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Also facing federal charges are Ronald Marion Butsch, 42; Dan Lee, 47; Timothy John Moore, 49; and Don Glen Zachary, 58, all of Austin.
If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fines.
