HOUSTON (CN) - An oil rig worker suffered "injuries to his stomach and psyche" from eating food into which a co-worker had ejaculated, the man claims in court.

Kirk Sharrock sued Hercules Offshore and Coastal Catering LLC in Harris County Court, seeking more than $1 million damages.

Sharrock claims he ate the tainted food while working aboard Hercules' offshore rig on Nov. 18.

The lawsuit does not say who pulled the prank, only that Sharrock "sustained injuries to his stomach and psyche when he ate food that defendants' employee ejaculated in."

How Sharrock found out his food had been contaminated is not mentioned in the lawsuit either.

He seeks punitive damages under the Jones Act, a federal law that protects the rights of offshore workers.

He is represented by Jason Itkin with Arnold Itkin of Houston.

Coastal Catering supplies cooks, galley hands, groceries and supplies to offshore oil rigs and platforms, according to the Houma, La. company's website.

While Houston-based Hercules Offshore operates 40 offshore oil rigs, according to its site.
