YouTuber’s defamation claims against Keemstar survive dismissal

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A federal judge in New York allowed YouTube personality “Def Noodles” to proceed with his libel lawsuit against rival YouTuber “Keemstar,” who tweeted to his audience of more than 2.7 million followers that Def Noodles had allegedly groomed girls between the ages of 12 and 15. The tweet did not call Def Noodles by name, but it referenced his online persona, and “a reasonable reader” could have taken the tweet as being a factual assertion and not “clearly a joke,” as Keemstar argues.
