JACKSON, MISS. - State Rep. John Read submitted a bill that would make it illegal for restaurants to serve obese people, but House Public Health Committee Chairman Steve Holland said he will "shred" it because it's "oppressive." Read, of Gaultier, told The Associated Press he was only "trying to shed a little light on the No. 1 problem in Mississippi." Read is 5-feet 11 and weighs 230 lbs., the AP reported. His bill did not define "obesity."
