Writer Says Producer Swiped Her Show

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A writer says the owner of Greenlight Entertainment stole her idea for a reality TV series about a "trans-American road rally car race." Sharlene Sullivan says she pitched her idea for "Speed Star" to Greenlight owner Fred Jung in May 2006, who used it in his show, "Bullrun," which aired in 2007.

Sullivan says that after the pitch meeting, her attorney sent Jung the treatment she had written to flesh out the show's concept. Sullivan claims in Superior Court that she had registered the treatment with the Writers Guild of America in 2005, according.

Instead of developing the show with Sullivan, Jung allegedly used the treatment to create the show himself.

Also named as defendants are Bullrun Productions and Rocket Science Laboratories. Sullivan is represented by Steven Lowe.
