A federal judge in Rhode Island approved a settlement between Brown University and student athletes in a dispute over the school’s elimination of five women’s athletic varsity teams. The settlement reinstates the women’s equestrian and fencing teams to varsity status.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A federal judge in Rhode Island approved a settlement between Brown University and student athletes in a dispute over the school’s elimination of five women’s athletic varsity teams. The settlement reinstates the women’s equestrian and fencing teams to varsity status.
