Women Sue Wachovia In Class Action

CHICAGO (CN) - A.G. Edwards & Sons and Wachovia Securities pay women less and treat them worse than similarly situated men, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court. Lead plaintiff Denise Holder claims, among other things, that Wachovia paid higher retention bonuses to men than to women when it completed its acquisition of Edwards in October 2007. The new company employs 10,800 brokers at 2,600 offices nationwide, the suit states.
