(CN) - Two women say that they were denied promotions and benefits at Corinthian Colleges because they would not submit to sexual advances from a campus president. They say William DeFusco, president of Corinthian College's Gahanna, Ohio, campus, sexually harassed them and offered "job promotions in exchange for sex."
In their federal complaint in Columbus, the women, one a medical assisting instructor and one an admissions representative, say DeFusco often touched them inappropriately, asked for sexual favors and made it clear that his advances were a meant as a condition for receiving job benefits.
The women say they "refused to have sexual relations with DeFusco and as a result they were denied promotions and other benefits" at Corinthian.
The women say they complained fruitlessly to Corinthian supervisors and human resources personnel about DeFusco's behavior.
Corinthian Colleges have been sued at least 84 times since 2005, according to the Courthouse News database. Allegations include sexual harassment, discrimination, deceptive trade, fraud and overtime issues.
Corinthian Colleges has more than 100 campuses across North America, according to its Web site.
The two plaintiffs in this case demand damages from Corinthian Colleges for sexual harassment and retaliation. DeFusco is not named as a defendant, though he is named in the complaint.
The women are represented by Rayl Stepter of Columbus.
