The plaintiff, Erin Hinner, was walking across Ashland Avenue at Central Street on Dec. 22, 2014 when Garcia turned onto Ashland at hit her.
According to a press release from Hinner’s lawyer, Garcia did not know he hit anyone until he heard Hinner screaming. Hinner was pinned under the truck for 30 minutes until firefighters were able to free her, and was put into a drug-induced coma in critical condition at the hospital.
