Woman Sues Grocery|Chain Over Peeper

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (CN) - A creepy grocery store employee used a peephole to film women using the restroom, a customer claims in court.

Ann Gray sued Schuette Stores and Jonathan D. Spotanski in Madison County Court. She claims Schuette Stores failed "to inspect the women's restroom to discover defendant's employee, Jonathan D. Spotanski, was using a cell phone to record video and take pictures through a hole in the ceiling of the women's restroom of the plaintiff while she used the restroom."

Spotanski surrendered to Troy, Ill., police in January 2012 after being charged with felony unauthorized video recording, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Spotanski was 21 at the time. He no longer works for Schuette.

Gray seeks damages for premises liability, negligence, intrusion upon seclusion of and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

She is represented by Adam Berry with Beatty & Motil, in Glen Carbon, Ill.
