Woman Says Wal-Mart Condoned|Sexual Battery By Co-Worker

INDIANAPOLIS (CN) - Wal-Mart refused to discipline a man who sexually battered a co-worker, but forced her to continue working with him, the woman says in a discrimination claim in Federal Court.

The complaint states that the man pleaded guilty to felony sexual battery, and that Wal-Mart had refused to discipline him though other women had complained about him as well.

The plaintiff says that Wal-Mart responded to her complaints of sexual battery by telling her to "do the best you can with a bad situation."

She demands punitive damages for constructive firing, discrimination, negligent retention, assault, battery and confinement, and other charges.

She is represented by Kathleen Sweeney.
