LOS ANGELES (CN) - Pamela Colburn and EuroCapital Advisors demand $270 million in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming her partner misappropriated file-sharing "Skype" technology and sold it to eBay for $2.6 billion.
Colburn says she formed EuroCapital with defendant Mark Dyne in 2000, as sole members, and they hired defendant attorney Murray Markiles to form the company and to represent Coburn. She also sues Dyne's "silent partner," his cousin, Kevin Bermeister. EuroCapital was a financial adviser to technology clients. Colburn claims the defendants conspired to create a new company, Skype, to which they licensed exclusive rights to technology they sold to eBay in 2005. She says they misappropriated at least $270 million. She also sues Edg Acquisitions LLC, Mark I. Dyne Trust, and Sam-Skype Investment Partnership, alleging fraud, breach of duty, conversion, unjust enrichment, breach of contract and other charges. She is represented by Milbank Tweed.
