Woman Says Harassment Made Her Ill

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (CN) - A woman says she has shingles, depression, and other medical conditions as a result of harassment by the YMCA of Southern Illinois.

Patricia Swanson claims in St. Clair County Court that she developed a stomach tumor and had a slow recovery from a hysterectomy and still suffers from depression, shingles, night terrors and hair loss from the YMCA's harassment.

She says the harassment began in July 2006, when the YMCA fired her husband, Scott. The firing was preceded by threatening calls by Scott Swanson's supervisors on the Swansons' home and cell phones, the suit states. She seeks more than $50,000 in damages. She is represented by Jim Ellis. YMCA employees John Small, Ed Neill and Steve Ira are also named as defendants.
