Woman Says Facebook Group Defamed Her

MANHATTAN (CN) - A woman demands $6 million from the creators and publishers of a Facebook group called "90 Cents Short of a Dollar." The plaintiff claims the group implies she's "a woman of dubious morals, dubious sexual character, having engaged in bestiality, an 'IV drug user,' as well as having contracted the HIV virus and AIDS."

Defendants are Facebook, Michael Dauber, Jeffrey Schwartz, Melinda Danowitz, Leah Herz, Richard Dauber, Amy Schwartz, Elliott Schwartz, Martin Danowitz, Bari Danowitz, Alan Herz and Ellen Herz.

The plaintiff is represented in New York County Court by Mark Altschul of Altschul & Altschul.
