EL PASO (CN) – A woman says a radio disc jockey soliciting money for a children’s charity hit and choked her so badly she feared for her life. She claims Gerald Ramsay aka Jerry Kidd, former program director for KISS-FM 93.1 attacked after she sought assurance that her $100 donation would actually go to kids.
Kimberley Hoggan says Ramsay grabbed her by the neck and choked her during the altercation, saying, “You stupid bitch, you’re like everyone, your money doesn’t go to kids. Brad told me it’s a scam to make money. You’re the worst thing that ever happened to me!”
Hoggan says Ramsay assaulted her while collecting donations for the “Million Koins for Kids Campaign” for sick and abused children.
Hoggan says she later found out that “in fact many of the charitable organizations have not and do not receive monetary contributions from the Million Koins for Kids Campaign which operates as a conduit for charities.”
In her complaint in El Paso County Court, Hoggan says Ramsay is a “convicted felon,” who has been “charged and/or convicted of multiple assaults on women.” And she claims Ramsay’s former employer, Regent Communications, was “well aware” of his convictions. She says Ramsay no longer works for the radio station.
Hoggan sued Ramsay, Regent Broadcasting of El Paso, General Manager Bradley Dubow and Regent Communications in El Paso County Court.
Dubow did not return calls requesting comment.
Hoggan seeks damages for assault and battery, sexual assault, negligent hiring, fraudulent concealment, breach of fiduciary duty and other charges.
She is represented by Harold Hayes.
