Woman Accused of Defecating 8 Times in Parking Lot Arrested

A woman accused of defecating in a Massachusetts parking lot more than a half-dozen times was arrested.

NATICK, Mass. (AP) — A woman accused of defecating in a Massachusetts parking lot more than a half-dozen times was arrested.

Natick police arrested Andrea Grocer, 51, of Ashland, on Wednesday in the parking lot of an outdoor store, The MetroWest Daily News reported.

Natick Outdoor Store owner Henry Kanner said he was "so happy" that authorities arrested her.

"I have no idea who she is. This has been ongoing," Kanner said. "She has defecated quite often over here. There's nothing more disgusting coming into your parking lot in the morning and seeing a pile of human excrement."

Authorities began investigating the incidents last month after Kanner reported finding the feces in his parking lot on at least eight different occasions, police spokeswoman Lt. Cara Rossi said.

"At first, they thought it was an animal but then they noticed toilet paper and other wipes — items animals would not have access to," Rossi said.

The incidents were caught on camera but officials were not able to capture the vehicle's license plate.

During her arraignment Wednesday, Grocer's lawyer described her as a "pillar of the community" and said she works a full-time job.

Both Rossi and Kanner said they're not sure why Grocer was defecating in the parking lot.

Grocer was charged with eight counts of wanton destruction of property and was released without bail Wednesday. Her next court date is March 2.
