TAX, TRIBAL LAW - The Wisconsin Court of Appeals affirmed denial of the Ho-Chunk Nation Indian Tribe's request for a refund of cigarette taxes in respect to sales on certain property that was not designated as trust land on or before Jan. 1, 1983. The U.S. government does not hold land in trust until formal acceptance under federal regulations.
