Wildlife critics sue over retaliation

SEATTLE — Washington Wildlife First, Commissioner Lorna Smith and attorney Claire Loebs Davis are suing Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Director Kelly Susewind and Deputy Director Amy Windrope, saying the officials used their positions to retaliate against them for speaking out on wildlife policy. They say the officials tried to punish critics and chill public debate over how Washington manages wildlife, spread false accusations to discredit them and tried to get Smith removed from the commission.
