Widow Sues Funeral Home Over Burial Mix-Up

MIAMI (CN) - A widow claims Jay's Funeral Home buried the remains of her husband in the wrong casket, or tried to bury the wrong remains in her husband's grave. She says funeral home owner Lee Jay acknowledged the mistake, halted the funeral ceremony and told everyone to go home.

Plaintiff Susan Kramer claims Jay then her he would "personally take care of it," and promised to allow a family member to witness the burial and said the funeral home would take photographs.

But Kramer says the defendants intentionally buried her husband without a family member present and without taking pictures.

She is represented in Miami-Dade County Court by Neal Hirschfeld with Greenspoon Marder.
