Widow Blames Drawbridge Operators for Death

FORT LAUDERDALE (CN) – A man died because a drawbridge operator raised the bridge as the man crossed it on foot, his widow says. Pauline Nolan says no warning signals were lit as her husband entered the bridge, and the bridge operator ignored the honking horns of motorists who saw her husband dangling, holding on for dear life, until he dropped 60 feet to his death.     Nolan and her three daughters sued ISS Facility Services, Transfield Services North America, Michael O’Rourke, and the State of Florida Department of Transportation in Broward County Court.     They are represented by Jay Cohen.
