What Was He|Being Paid For?

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - The American Small Business League finds it "patently unbelievable" that Michael Stamler made only one phone call every three days as director of the Small Business Administration press office from 2006 to 2007. The League doubts the SBA's claim that it has handed over all of Stamler's phone records.

After the SBL complained that the floppy disk it received with the requested information was corrupted, it says it was sent a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet indicating that Stamler made only 369 calls in three years.

The SBL claims that the SBA has wrongfully withheld the requested documents by failing to conduct a reasonable and thorough search. It seeks an order from U.S. Magistrate Judge Chen compelling release of the records.

The SBL is represented by Robert Belshaw of Gutierrez and Associates.
