University faces drag suit

DALLAS — A federal judge refused to dismiss a student organization’s lawsuit against West Texas A&M University President Walter Wendler over his cancellation of planned drag shows on campus. Although the dates for the drag shows that were first at issue have already passed, Wendler indicated in an email to the student group that he would likely cancel any future drag shows, so the group sufficiently alleges an injury that could be remedied with an injunction and, therefore, has standing to pursue its case.
