BROOKLYN (CN) - A man claims Turkish Airlines stranded him in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for 19 days, refusing to let him board a flight or give him a refund because he refused to apologize to a Turkish Airline flight attendant who had assaulted him in the airport. Shawn Shelton says he was the only black person in the Bishkek airport.

Shelton demands damages of $1 million for each of his 19 days in "captivity," and punitive damages. He is represented in Federal Court by Thatcher Stone of Manhattan.
