Weird Al, Sony Settle|$5M Royalty Lawsuit

MANHATTAN (CN) - Weird Al Yankovic and Sony Music Entertainment have settled a $5 million lawsuit that the singer's company filed against the record label in March 2012.

Details of the settlement were not immediately known. Yankovich's law firm didn't immediately return a request for comment on Tuesday, and Sony declined to comment.

Yankovic's Ear Booker Enterprises had claimed in Manhattan Federal Court that Sony underpaid the parody singer royalties since July 2003 and owed him $5 million.

U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres on Monday approved the stipulation of dismissal with prejudice.
