Weight loss drug

TAMPA, Fla. — A federal court in Florida ruled a couple can pursue their negligence and products liability claims based on a defective design theory against pharmaceutical companies Eisai and Arena Pharmaceuticals. Mary Milana claims the drug “Belviq” caused her to develop breast cancer. The plaintiffs have plausibly alleged the drug was defective because its active ingredient tended to cause cancer in clinical trials.
