Water Slide Pileup Makes Splash in Court

SAN ANTONIO (CN) - A woman claims in court that she was injured at a Six Flags water slide when she slid into the person in front of her, who was stuck inside.

Lori Ann Fischbach sued Six Flags Fiesta Texas in Bexar County Court.

Fischbach says she was at the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park in San Antonio in September 2010 when she rode down the enclosed Twister waterslide, which Six Flags describes as a "watery journey into darkness ... combin[ing] speed, mystery and multiple helixes."

Riders slide down on inner tubes provided by Six Flags.

"The individual in front of the plaintiff had become stopped or stuck in the slide, due to insufficient water flow and/or other defects in the slide," the complaint states. "Defendants and their employees knew or should have known that riders were becoming stopped or stuck."

Fischbach says that a Six Flags employee who timed the interval between riders told her to go.

"This employee of the defendants instructed plaintiff to enter the slide without making sure that the previous rider had made it far enough down the slide and/or to the end of the slide," the complaint states.

"Plaintiff was riding the Twister waterslide when she collided with the individual who was stuck inside the waterslide in front of her."

Fischbach says she suffered "serious bodily injuries and other damages."

She seeks damages for negligence.

She is represented by Ryan Anderson with the Rasansky Law Firm in Dallas.

Named as defendants are Six Flags Entertainment Corp., Six Flags Theme Parks and Fiesta Texas dba Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
