Wannabe Terrorist|Gets 4 Years in Colorado

DENVER (CN) - A 19-year-old Colorado woman was sentenced Friday to four years in federal prison for conspiring to provide material support to al-Qaida and ISIS.

Shannon Conley, of Arvada, was charged in a criminal complaint on April 9, 2014, then indicted by a grand jury on Sept. 10, and pleaded guilty that day .

Conley met a co-conspiracy on the Internet and they communicated about violent jihad, which Conley wanted to join, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement announcing her sentence.

Prosecutors said Conley decided to become engaged to the man, who claimed to be a member of ISIS. She joined the U.S. Army Explorers to get military training, and was arrested at Denver International Airport on April 8, 2014, as she attempted to board a flight to Turkey.
