SAN ANTONIO (CN) - A Texan held up a Tex-Mex restaurant and a gas station with a sword and threatened to kill people - to try to steal six tacos and gasoline, police said.

Adam Benjamin Kramer, 28, is charged with aggravated robbery and attempted robbery. He is being held on $220,000 bond.

Kramer ordered six tacos at Alondras De Jalisco in south San Antonio on Dec. 2. When a waitress told him what it would cost, Kramer said he would take the tacos for free and started sliding a large sword in and out of a black sheath at his waist, police said.

Kramer left the restaurant when a phone rang, went to his pickup, and returned to the restaurant still carrying the sword, according to the arrest warrant affidavit. The waitress locked the door.

"Mr. Kramer was yelling that he wanted his free tacos or somebody was going to die," the affidavit states.

Kramer drove away and was arrested by Bexar County Sheriff's deputies the next day on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon - from a different encounter.

Sometime after leaving without his tacos on Dec. 2, Kramer allegedly threatened to rob a gas station of $50 in gas.

When asked how he wanted to pay, Kramer, still brandishing his sword, said it would be free, according to police and local news reports.

When she refused, Kramer allegedly reached for the sword and told her she was going to die. She told him she would lose her job if she gave him free gas, so Kramer said that "since she put it that way," he wanted $20 in gas, and he paid for it, police said.
